Île aux Cerfs is a privately owned, 87-hectare island paradise set within the largest lagoon on the east coast of Mauritius. Its name — meaning "Island of Deer" in French — dates to the 17th century, when thousands of Javan deer were introduced by Dutch settlers. The deer are long gone, but the island's extraordinary natural beauty endures: powdery white sand beaches, gin-clear turquoise lagoons, and coral reefs teeming with tropical marine life.
There are no roads to Île aux Cerfs. No ferries from the mainland. The only way to experience this island paradise is by boat — and the way you arrive shapes your entire day.
